Frank, Dean-o and Sammy

Friday could not have come soon enough, do you agree? We are due for another Friday Night Movie right? Okay, it's the last movie on Dan's favorite list.

Ocean's 11

Filmed in 1960, this Las Vegas heist classic is loaded with stars... Including
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Ange Dickinson

These guys were the essence of cool, the big cheese, the full monty, the bees knees, the cat's meow. They were so smooth. In 2001, they remade Ocean's 11 with a cast that was good, but nothing, my friends, could compare to these guys. It's no surprise Dan liked this one.

It starts with eleven friends who knew each other from World War II. They devise a master plan to rob five of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas in one night. But after the whole thing is over, something goes wrong...

This movie is great! The music is jazzy, the actors are classy and the ending is snazzy.

Just a warning though, it's a long one. It can get a little slow at times, but just stick with it, I promise you will enjoy it.

Happy Friday everyone.

An Update, A List

Here's what has been going on in our lives. Listed, 1-8

1. Dan beginning his 3rd to last semester, so in other words, we will be here a little longer.

2. Me working. Its feels good to earn money, and have a job. This way Dan can concentrate on school.

3. We visited Annie's new baby Ava, and our dear friends the Hunts, who just had Jordan a few days ago. Wow there are lots of new babies around us.

4.The Rexburg house is officially on the market, the sign is in the window. It's kinda sad actually.

5. Fixing up the Rexburg house. This week we tackled the laundry room. Asta la vista washer and dryer, hello giant new bedroom. Pics coming later.

6. Us trying to understand why it's so blasted cold here, and why we have stayed so long. Oh yeah, school. One bachelors degree down, one to go.

7. We are playing the waiting game. Dan should hear what city his internship is any minute. The most likely places: Salt Lake City, Ogden, Boston, Portland, Seattle. Any day now, just waiting for a phone call.

8. Gearing up for the olympics, I keep trying to convince Dan we should just get in the car and drive to Vancouver.

We are super busy trying to get the house in shape, getting rid of stuff, getting ready to move, working, studying. . . we don't have a lot of time to do anything else. Is a break coming soon?

We HOPE.

Tonight: The Maltese Falcon

Hello blog readers! It's Friday again and I am ready to plop down in the bean bag for a night of movie watching with a bowl full of marshmallow popcorn. Speaking of marshmallow popcorn. . . it's only the greatest microwave treat you will EVER taste! I know is sounds a little gross to all you health nuts out there but seriously folks, you have got to try it. Thanks to my little bro-in-law Jody K Zimmer, who introduced us to it. It has adorned our popcorn bowl many a boring nights here in the Burg. We can only find it at the local grocery store here, Broulims, so you might have to do some searching. It's called Mallow Magic . . .

Mercy almighty it's good! It's magic in my mouth! It's raining marshmallow deliciousness! It's salty! It's sweet! It's. . . Ok, I'll stop. You get the picture. Try it tonight. Right now, get up and go get it.

Tonight my friends, it's number 4 of Daniel's favorites. Another film noir classic,

Sam Spade, a private detective, takes on a case that involves him with three eccentric criminals, one beautiful liar, and their quest for a priceless statuette. This 1941 film is dark, thought provoking, intriguing, and suspenseful.

Starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor

Nominated for 3 Acadamy Awards, it's a mystery and a love story. Make sure you are in the mood for this movie, it doesn't leave you feeling peachy on the inside, but it's a good mysterious flick that will keep you guessing.

Happy Friday, and happy Mallow Magic-ing everyone.

The Botanic Garden

I was in heaven. The air was misty, the sky was grey, it was quiet.
The Chicago Botanic Garden is world-renowned for it's plant collections and displays. We visited in November when the leaves had fallen and only evergreens and winter berries brought the color. To me this place was magical, it was spiritual and beautiful. It's hard to explain how much I loved being there. I only hope I can visit again someday.

I didn't take enough pictures. Not nearly enough.

December the 25th, 2009

Its always hard coming home to a cold lonely house after two weeks of holiday bliss with the family in Utah. We loved our time there, we ATE, danced with the babies, slept, flew helicopters, got ready for a new baby, looked at twinkle lights, went snow shoeing, skied Solitude and built snowmen. I don't have pictures of everything but here are some of my favorites.

Brown paper packages tied up with string. . .

Um, could they get any puffier? Heavenly I tell you, heavenly.

Notice the snowman slash snowblobman in bottom left corner. The snow was not sticky that day.

Feasting on our Christmas Eve feast. Thanks Mother and Dad.

Wake up Matty! It's Christmas!

The perfect thing to do on Christmas morning, putting together a really cool toy.

Look at all those great faces, sheesh we are a cute family. Love you guys!

Sisters.

The Clason girls, we need to take more of these pictures I think. Miss you guys already.

Hooray for H and Claire!

No words.

Snow shoeing around Silver Lake at Solitude. The best idea ever, thanks Matty.

Great picture yeah? The perfect day.

Hey Liz, hey Matt. Thanks for smiling.

Dan the Man.

I hope everyone had a Happy Christmas and an Exciting New Year.
