We Celebrated!

Today we celebrated:

1) Our first bike ride of the year! After school today it was 50 degrees outside which in Rexburg language is "everyone takes a jog/walk/drive with your windows down/bike ride/break from pants and put on some shorts" kind of day! Dan and i enjoyed riding around the neighborhood racing to the bottom of all the streets. Hoora for spring!

2) Women's Day. ( A national Russian holiday- basically valentines day and mothers day combined.) I found out from a friend about the holiday and then gracefully reminded Dan. So the rest of the day I tried to get Dan to get me flowers and buy me a treat but he just laughed- we still had a nice day together even without the presents :)

3) Three and a half weeks left of the semester! We are counting down. We might be planning a little trip to Las Vegas as soon as we're done. Here comes the sun!

4) The bulk section at Winco. On Saturday night we spent like a half an hour in the bulk section picking out delectable snacks for a home made trail mix. Don't you hate it when the trail mix you buy doesn't have the stuff you want in it, or even worse- when it has stuff you don't want in it? Well- say no more. We built our own mix of deliciousness and payed like five bucks for everything. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for trail mix satisfaction.

5) The sight of grass in our front yard! The snow melted about a foot back from the sidewalk and we can see our lawn! Since we have had 4 feet of snow on the ground since January we are really happy.

And so we drank our cranberry apple sparkling cider and made a toast to ourselves and to all the great things that are happening- what a way to start the week!



This is Daniel's nephew Aiden. Isn't he sweet? We sure think so.

Ah . . . . Family

For Presidents Day weekend we went down to Utah to visit all of my sisters. As of Christmas I am the only one left in Idaho finishing school. Three of them live in SLC and Toria is about to move to Dubai- about a million years away from Rexburg. Its ok though because I can always come visit you all when I get home sick. Thanks for letting us stay with you Anne. I do miss you guys a lot, don't forget about me up here ok?















Don't mind all the Carl's Jr. cups. We all just had some delicious hamburgers for dinner. We really don't drink that much pop all the time. And that is our friend Jessica standing by Liz- She came to visit too.


My niece Claire loves playing with just her diaper on. I caught this little video of her enjoying her new found freedom from her clothes. Just call her Tarzan.

Happy Valentines Day!

Daniel picked out and arranged these flowers all by himself (with the help of one of my friends in the floral department at school) and surprised my with them at school yesterday. Thank you Dan, they are beautiful.

So this is how much snow was on the top of our roof last week. Daniel said that a little farther up (where the camera couldn't reach) it was 4 feet deep. All of our neighbors were shoveling it off so we figured we better do it too. Dan got kinda thirsty up there so I chucked some gatorade and jerky up there for him to snack on. Random side note; sorry. It was a long morning.

A Bunch of Stuff

I realize that I am one of the worst bloggers in existance considering the time continuums between my postings. I do apolagize to those who check my blog hoping to see something new. So- to make up for lost time, here a bunch of stuff since Thanksgiving that I have been meaning to post. Sorry!

First- Dan gave me a sewing machine for Christmas! She's lovely ain't she? Sorry Dan, still haven't had the time to sew anything yet.



Second- I bought some new plants for my house. I love having plants everywhere!



Third- My best friend Michelle and her boyfriend Steve came to visit us in Rexburg. We ate at Gandolfo's, played the piano, drank bubble ice and chocolate milk, played duck hunt, danced to the music, and ate ice cream at Joe's. A great weekend.



Fourth- Emily, Tim and Claire came to see us the next weekend. We hit record cold temperatures that weekend so we couldn't do much outside. Instead we watched the first season of Heroes- "Save the cheerleader, save the world." We did other stuff too, like visit the BYU-I campus, and the boys went skiing at Targhee.



Fifth- The Rexburg Temple open house was wonderful- We are so lucky to have a temple here.



Sixth- I bought some new red shoes. Aren't they cute? Every girl needs a darling pair of little red shoes- right Emily?



More stuff to come later. . .

Could this place be real? I sure wish I could find it and sit on one of those rocks and read a book. Or maybe just pick some of those flowers.

Construction Zone

When Dan and I went home to Ashland for Thanksgiving we began an impossible feat- that of Mother's long time dream of knocking out the pantry wall for a bigger living room and replacing the kitchen floor. Dan even brought all of his tools to help Dad get through his worst nightmare of redoing all the electrical during the project. It was pretty exciting at the beginning- John strapped on his tool belt, Matt turned on the demolition tunes, Dad left the house early for work (secretly hoping Mom would change her mind while he was gone) and Mom had that "project creep" look in her eyes. We did it! That great wall came down! The cream linoleum was torn up and the grey carpet demolished! By the middle we were wondering if the trash piles were ever going to stop forming. As I always say- (or at least I have always heard from somewhere)- “It always looks worse before it looks better”. Now the flooring is almost done and it looks fantastic. Congratulations Mom! Your dream finally came true after all these years!
